Matt + Theresa

We are so excited to grow our family through adoption. We have seen firsthand the beauty of adoption as two of Theresa's cousins, Elijah and Miguel, are adopted. We have watched as God has beautifully knitted Elijah and Miguel into our extended family. Both our immediate and extended families cannot wait to see our family grow through adoption again. We want you to know that we already adore and love you. You have been in our prayers and on our hearts. We are amazed by you and your courage as you consider making an adoption plan for your child.

Hi There!

First, we really want to thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about us. We are already looking forward to the day we get to share more in person but hope this gives you a glimpse into our family.

Second, we want you to know that we already adore and love you. You have been in our prayers and on our hearts. We are amazed by you and your courage as you consider making an adoption plan for your child.

Our faith has been our guide in this journey. God's heart is for adoption. In love, God adopts us into His family as His children. We believe that it is God's plan for us to grow our family through adoption and would love for you to be part of our story.

Our Love Story

We actually first met each other at 5 years old in Sunday School. But from what we were told, it was not love at first sight! We were introduced because we BOTH had twin brothers; however, Matt and his twin brother William were more interested in becoming friends with Theresa's twin brother Chris than her.

Several years later...14 to be exact, Matt and Theresa were both invited with a group of friends to the rodeo. Matt sang his heart out during the concert to Theresa. He must have been pretty good (or at least made an impression), because they started dating shortly thereafter. Theresa went to college in California at Stanford, while Matt stayed in Texas - a proud Texas Aggie. They dated long distance the remaining 3 years of college.

Within 24 hours of Theresa graduating and moving back to Texas, Matt proposed in a bluebonnet field on his family's ranch. Matt and Theresa believe the bluebonnets never looked more beautiful and that began a lifelong love of wildflowers.

In 2013, we got married in the same church where we first met at 5 years old. It was the sweetest day surrounded by family and friends. In the past 5 years of marriage, God has grown us closer than we ever imagined as we have grown closer to Him as well. We cannot wait to add a little Wildflower to our family.

We Love...

The outdoors, Walks with our dog Rudy, Wildflowers, Hosting family and friends at our home, Time with family at the ranch, Swinging on our front porch, Living out our Faith together.

About Theresa By Matt

'About Theresa By Matt' Image

Theresa is my beautiful bride, and best friend. With her loving heart and welcoming smile, it is no surprise this girl quickly becomes friends with everyone she meets. She has a deep love of the Lord, the outdoors (especially wildflowers - like these sunflowers shown here) and enjoys leading a college Young Life bible study.

Theresa is best friends with everyone she meets. I've had the pleasure of getting to become friends with her friends from high school, college, church...basically everywhere she goes.

This girl can RUN!! She often enjoys morning runs with friends, exploring cities on foot and even ran the New York City marathon with a dear friend! Not surprisingly, Theresa had a big group of cheerleaders supporting her run.

I have had the joy of witnessing her love in how she pursues the girls in her Young Life group. They love her so much too! This photo was from when they through her a surprise birthday party.

About Matt By Theresa

Matt has the biggest heart of anyone I know. He loves me and our close friends and family, but what has always amazed me about Matt is how selflessly he builds relationships and cares for EVERYONE whether it be a neighbor, the guys in the bible study he leads or a coworker who needs support. Matt loves to help and is always there for those around him. I treasure his amazing heart and cannot wait to see him as a Dad.

He is a woodworker at heart. Matt is creative and loves to use his creativity around our house. He has a passion for woodworking and has built some beautiful items for our home and most recently, constructed a new fence.

I absolutely can't wait to see him as a Dad. Matt loves to play. It's been a joy to see him love my younger cousins. He is always their real life jungle gym. He is also the best uncle to our niece Margot - she lights up whenever she sees him.

Matt leads a men's bible study. It has been so cool to see his guys be knitted into our family. They even helped with our recent move!

Our Family

We have very close knit families. Our parents and almost all our siblings live within a 20 minute drive! Our brothers and sisters cannot wait to be aunts and uncles, and our parents are so excited to be grandparents. Margot (born December 2016) and Cynthia (born August 2018) cannot wait to welcome a cousin. One of our favorite things about our families is that our parents and siblings love hanging out with each other!

Our Community

We are so incredibly grateful for our community who loves and supports us so well. As we get ready to embark on the journey of parenthood, we praise God for these dear friends who we know will love us and our child each step of the way!

Our Yellow Home

'Our Yellow Home' Image

We are so excited to have recently purchased a home that we cannot wait to raise our family in. It has a big front porch (and most importantly front porch swing!) and great backyard (Rudy's favorite!), which we have already used to host our friends for a barbecue.

It is on a beautiful tree-lined street, near several parks. We love taking our dog Rudy for walks and look forward to strolling with our baby someday. We also love it, because there are several restaurants, coffee shop and stores within walking distance. We love being able to walk to breakfast on Saturday mornings. We are also walking distance to a great elementary school and middle school.

Our Faith

We love Jesus. He is our Lord, Savior and Friend. We believe that God, in His steadfast and faithful love for us, sent His Son to die for our brokenness, so that He could adopt us into His family. He wanted us so badly that He was willing to die for us. This is an unimaginable type of love, incredible grace, something we know that we could never earn or deserve. This grace has changed our lives. We no longer live for ourselves but for Jesus. We long for others to know this free gift of grace, which is available to ALL who believe. We are already praying that our children would grow to love and know Jesus and cannot wait to share His love with them.

Jesus spent His time on Earth serving and loving on those that were hurting. He even wept with his friends who were suffering. We cannot even begin to imagine what you're going through, but we know this must be a hard season. As we type this, we so wish we could heal your pain. We know we cannot, but we believe in a God who came to heal and comfort and to make a way to restore everything eternally. We are praying that He would draw near to you, and you would feel comforted.

Thank You.

Thank you for taking the time to get know us. We are so humbled and grateful that you would consider us to adopt your child. We hope that these pages have been encouraging as you make a plan for your child.

We promise to love you. You are and will always be a courageous and beautiful mother. You will always be honored in our family, and we hope to build a relationship with you.

We also promise that if our child's culture is different than ours, we will seek out friends and mentors to help teach our family, so our child's culture can be part of all of our stories.

We promise to love this child with everything we have - a love that comes from God first loving us. We promise to build a home, family and community that will cover this child in God's love.

We love, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19
