Marcus + Tara

We hope that our story will give you a peek into our life, love, family, friends, and how we live our daily lives.

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile book. We hope that our story will give you a peek into our life, love, family, friends, and how we live our daily lives.

We have been trying unsuccessfully to conceive a child for over 6 years. Through our faith, we feel like God has called upon us to adopt, and we cannot wait to meet the child He has chosen for us.

We are honored that you might consider choosing us as the adoptive family for your child. We want you to know that we respect and admire your decision to make an adoption plan, and we cannot begin to imagine how difficult this decisions is for you.

We pray that you will have the strength and courage you need as you complete this journey. It is our goal that this book provides some insight into our lives and the life your child might have, surrounded by love, support and nurture.

How We Met

'How We Met' Image

We met in the summer of 2002 at Tara's workplace. Tara was cutting Marcus' mom and brother's hair, and they recommended that Marcus go and get his haircut to meet this beautiful Vietnamese girl.

Marcus was reluctant to go at first, he had a girl that had been cutting his hair for a few years. Fortunately, he eventually relented, and although they didn't start dating immediately, it was still love at first sight. Marcus continued to get his haircut every few weeks and a deep friendship developed.

After a few years we decided to take our friendship to a new level and started dating in November 2004, and the rest as they say, is history!

Marcus By Tara

Marcus is one of the funniest people I know. He is a master impersonator and all around class-clown. His warm and friendly smile though is what naturally gravitates people to him.

He is a very kind, loving and caring person. But, what I love the most about Marcus is that he is a self-made man. His determination and ambition are why he is so successful, and it has also given us the opportunity to live a very blessed life.

He finds solace in working in the yard, mowing, and planting and pruning the flowers in our flowerbeds. Getting outside and working with his hands is a way for him to relax and relieve stress.

He loves to grill, whether it's putting on a steak, burgers, chicken, seafood, or veggies, there is a pursuit of perfection, as he is always looking for ways to improve the recipe.

Tara By Marcus

Tara is one of the most beautiful people I know, both inside and out. She can light up a room with her smile and charm.

One of my favorite attributes about Tara is her heart, which is pure as gold. Whether it's a friend or family member, animal, or complete stranger, she shows compassion and love for everyone she meets. Tara sees the best in people and has an optimistic outlook on life. She also has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh.

Tara loves to bake, paint her nails, and be out and about. She and her mom spend every Wednesday going out to eat, shopping, and spending quality time together. She also loves electronics and stays up to date on the latest tech gadgets; particularly phones and cameras.

Our Life Together

Our life together consists of spending time together, talking and laughing, and sharing stories about our day. We love traveling and visiting new places, trying to go on at least one big vacation per year. We are HUGE foodies and love trying new foods and restaurants.

We are complete opposites that compliment each other. Marcus is very structured, focusing on creating a plan to get things done. Tara is the opposite, more of a dreamer and has a more laid-back personality.

We look forward to including a child in our activities and joy.

We have one dog and his name is Mushu. He is a toy poodle and will turn 13 in June 2016. Mushu has been a part of the family since 2003, before we even started dating. Tara purchased him from a breeder and flew on a plane to Chicago to pick him up at 12 weeks old.

Although he is getting older, he is a sweet and playful dog that still has a lot of energy. He enjoys playing with his toys and is never too far from our side. He is great with children and will love to have someone new to play with.

'Vacations' Image

We LOVE to travel and have been fortunate and privileged enough to travel to 4 countries since we've been married.

So far, we have been to Mexico (three times), Vietnam, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas. Our favorite cities we've travelled to in the U.S. thus far are San Francisco and New York City.

Trying new foods, seeing historical sites, meeting new people, and learning new cultures are just a few of things we enjoy about traveling. We hope to continue traveling with our children to create new memories and adventures, giving them the opportunity to experience new places, foods, and cultures.

Our Promise

If we are given the privilege to adopt your baby, we will do everything within our power to provide for our child, giving him or her a safe home, which will be filled with love, joy, and laughter. We will give our child every opportunity to travel, try new cultures, and try as many hobbies or activities as possible. He or she will be given the chance for the best education, to be in a position to accomplish whatever he or she wants to be in life. We will raise he or she with principles and values, tools and resources, to be successful in life, while always being a good person.

Thank You

Thank you again for taking the time to read our story. We are so excited about the possibility of sharing our lives with your precious child. It is our hope that this profile has given you an idea of the life we live. Surrounded by love, laughter and joy, we hope you can see your child being a part of our family.

We can't begin to imagine how you feel and what you're going through. The choice you are making is the ultimate sacrifice. You are a strong, selfless women, to give the gift of life to two people that are unable to conceive on their own, and this is the greatest gift we could ever receive.

Throughout this journey, we look forward to getting to know you, past and present, so that we may have an opportunity to share these stories with our child someday.

With Warmest Regards and Gratitude,

Marcus & Tara
