Kaleb + Jill

Thank you for taking a moment to get to know us and for considering making our dream to grow our family come true. We hope that you will see the loving, fun, active, adventurous, and creative life, filled with opportunities, that we would provide for your child and that you know that you will always be a very special part of that journey. We can hardly fathom the strength and unconditional love it has taken for you to make an adoption plan, but we will work every day to ensure that our child continues to be surrounded by the same love and strength.

Our Story

'Our story' Image

We met August 9, 2013 when a mutual friend invited us to go an Aaron Watson concert at a Texas dance hall. We hit it off right away and spent the whole night talking. And the conversation just kept going! We were engaged September 29, 2014 and married August 10, 2015 on a cruise ship in the port of Galveston, officially united 2 adults, 1 child, 3 dogs, and 3 cats. And although our address has changed and our four-legged family has evolved, the love we share has only grown.

About Kaleb (by Jill)

Kaleb is the most amazing man I've ever met. I know it sounds corny, but honestly, before I met Kaleb I did not believe in soul mates. The moment you think you have him figured out, you find out something new about him. He is insanely intelligent with an equally wide variety of interests, life experiences, and talents. When you first meet him, you'd figure out pretty quickly that he's serious, intelligent, freakishly observant, hard-working, and born, raised, and proud to be Texan. If you got to know him a little more, you'd discover he's funny, good at practically everything, creative, protective, sarcastic, loyal, not a morning person, and that his family - human and canine - means everything to him. And then if you really got to know him, you'd see that he's sensitive, romantic, goofy, secretly loves my cat, and would only leave me if he had a chance with Christina Aguilera lol. I learn something new from him every day and can't imagine taking this adoption journey with anyone else.

About Jill (by Kaleb)

Jill is my soul mate. I know she said the same thing, but it's true. When we met, we immediately had a connection I've never had with anyone else. As I got to know her, I discovered her love for her pets and I love how she cares for them as true members of the family. Our first official date was a weekend at an ATV park - where she would only go if she could bring her dogs. Jill's intelligence is only out done by her kindness and heart. She is one of the most caring people I know and has a way of understanding me and putting up with my shenanigans that never ceases to amaze me. She loves to dance and I love dancing with her anywhere and everywhere. She also loves to travel. Just like me, she's not a morning person, but does a better job dealing with it than I do. Jill keeps me organized and is our "house manager". Everyone who meets her loves her and she has a great relationship with my family. Jill brings happiness to my life every day. I knew right from the start she would be the one I married and couldn't live without.

  • Quirk: hates having nose and mouth covered at same time

About Grayson

'About Grayson' Image

Grayson is a beautiful and highly intelligent sixth grader who is a total tom-boy and her father's mini-me. She is an extremely talented artist who loves to draw and paint, and a very skilled goalie on her competitive soccer team. She loves to play video games and board games, play outside, go swimming, go 4-wheeling, camping, and hunting, build fires and make s'mores in our fire pit, play with our dogs, go to Broadway shows, and travel and visit different museums. She is confident that she is her baby cousin Kai's favorite person and that Tank loves her more than he loves Kaleb (they're both sorely mistaken - he definitely loves Jill the most ha ha ha). Grayson is obsessed with super soft blankets and stuffed animals. Her favorite stuffed animal, Rhino, accompanies her where ever she is staying, as she lives part time with us and part time with her mother. Shy at first, she is very talkative once she gets to know you. She prefers math and science to English and reading at school.

Fun facts about Grayson

  • Middle name: Rainey
  • Nicknames: Rug Rat, Squirt, BG (baby girl)
  • Hair: dark brown
  • Eyes: dark brown
  • Height: 4'11"
  • Wants to be: an architect or YouTube star

  • Pet peeve: people with big egos but small skill sets
  • Quirk: hates tags in her clothes

Our Pets

'Our pets' Image

Our four-legged family, is very important to us and they love kids!! We're quite certain that they will claim the baby as their own Both Boxers and Boerboels are extremely loyal and protective family dogs and love to spend time with their humans and our cat is the most friendly, tolerant feline we've ever met. Our babies are: Bear, a 6 year old male Boxer; Pippy, a 4 year old female Boxer; Lily, a 3 year old female Boxer; and Tank, a 2 year old male South African Boerboel.

Our Home

Kaleb and Grayson are born and raised Texans and Jill moved to Texas from Iowa about 9 years ago. We've lived in our house for a little over a year and we absolutely love being in a neighborhood that's a little bit out in the country - and our dogs definitely love the extra room to run! We also have a neighborhood park at the end of our street which has a playground and a dog park, and a neighborhood lake. We have large indoor and outdoor kitchens which we both enjoy cooking in and we frequently have large groups of friends over for meals. We've already started putting together the nursery and can't wait to bring baby home!

Our Families

'Our families' Image

We are very lucky that Kaleb's parents, brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and grandfather all live near us in Texas. We get together with them frequently for family dinners and they come to cheer Grayson on at soccer nearly every weekend. They are anxiously awaiting the new arrival to our family and excited that our nephew will have a cousin close to the same age. Kaleb's extended family lives in Iowa and Minnesota and we try to visit them at least once a year.

All of Jill's immediate family and nearly all of her extended family live in Iowa, though her parents also live in Arizona part of the year, stopping in Texas to visit us on their way there. We try to get to Iowa once a year to visit them as well. Jill's family loves card and board games and enjoys a little friendly competition whenever we get together. They are thrilled to be awaiting the new arrival to our family and Jill's youngest brother claims he will be the proudest uncle ever

Thank You

We want our child to know, from the beginning, about the special way he or she came in to our lives and to always feel loved, accepted, and safe in our family. We will strive every day to celebrate and honor your amazing gift and our child's unique family heritage.

We hope that something about our family has connected with you and we wish you the best of luck as you choose your child's adoptive parents.

With love,

Kaleb & Jill
