Hello! We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you and we are grateful to you for considering us as possible adoptive parents for your baby. Please know we admire the strength and courage it takes to create an adoption plan. We were introduced through a mutual friend at work. The first time for us to meet was at church. David claims our first date was to see a movie. Christi, however, tends to disagree as it was a free movie showing sponsored by our employer! We noticed very early on that we liked the same activities, had similar interests, shared the same faith and enjoyed each other's company.
Dear Expectant Parent,
We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you and we are grateful to you for considering us as possible adoptive parents for your baby. Please know we admire the strength and courage it takes to create an adoption plan. We cannot imagine how difficult this life decision must be. Through your sacrificial love and selflessness, you will be completing our hope of enjoying a family through the miracle of adoption. We hope, through this short introduction into our lives, we can show you the love, support, and joy for life that we have to share as parents. We will always respect you as a mother and share with your child the love that you have for him or her. We are thankful for your decision and pray that our story touches your heart in some way.
Our Story Is My Favorite
We were introduced through a mutual friend at work. The first time for us to meet was at church. David claims our first date was to see a movie. Christi, however, tends to disagree as it was a free movie showing sponsored by our employer! We noticed very early on that we liked the same activities, had similar interests, shared the same faith and enjoyed each other's company. We dated a little over a year before David's thoughtful, unique and family filled proposal.
Meet David Through Christi's Eyes...
David is one of the most genuinely kind people that I know and blessed to call him my best friend. He is slow to anger, patient and sensitive to others' thoughts and feelings. I know that this will serve us well when we welcome a baby into our home. He often looks for the best in people and has a heart for those less fortunate. His thoughtfulness shines through regularly as I'm one lucky girl to be on the receiving end of frequent compliments and verbal affirmations of my worth and importance to him. I am excited to watch David model patience, kindness and love needed as we begin our family. David is an extremely hard worker and is fiercely loyal to his commitments, including our relationship. He works hard but also likes to play hard and enjoy life.
Meet Christi Through David's Eyes...
Christi is the most generous person I've known in my life. She loves to give of her talents, especially when it comes to baking and care-giving. She is the perfect aunt for 20 nieces and nephews in our family, always having fun with them and looking for ways to spend time with them. She particularly enjoys "cousin camp" every year in which she helps organize fun and creative activities. Her love is shared not only with her family but through her work as a nurse as well. She has a big, giving heart that her patients get to experience daily. She is always encouraging me to be a better person and is quick to support my work endeavors. I know in my heart that Christi will be a great mom to our child and I have no doubt that she will create a wonderful home for our new family.
We both have a passion to help others and are blessed to live out our passions at work through our local faith-based hospital in town. Christi has always worked in health care and now works as a registered nurse, assisting physicians in the cardiac cath lab.
David carries the responsibility of ensuring that all supplies are available to all departments in the hospital. He works hard to coordinate deliveries and needs on a daily basis. David is serious about work, but also serious about getting away and relaxing!
At work, we enjoy the friendly atmosphere of serving others in our small community.
Our Dog Oscar
Oscar is our spoiled four-legged child...He is our 14-year-old poodle and really does live in the lap of luxury!! He spends most of his days sleeping, eating, and sleeping some more. He enjoys taking rides in the car, relaxing and getting as much attention as possible. He has been David's loyal companion since he was a puppy and they share a special bond.
We believe part of growing in our relationship and enjoying life is being able to share experiences together. We enjoy seeing new places, traveling and exploring the outdoors. Christi's family teases that in another life David would be a travel agent!! Hence, David is our "get away" planner.
We tend to travel to places where there are outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, and skiing where we can admire Gods' handiwork. We look forward to being able to share these adventures and experiences with our child.
Beliefs & Parenting
We are believers in Jesus Christ and strive to live out His character and teachings daily. Our beliefs inspire us to be the body of Christ as we interact with each other, our families and others. We want to raise our child to know the mercy, love and grace that has been extended to us through Christ. We pray that our life is reflective of a life lived out for God's glory and purpose.
We will raise our child to know and experience the unconditional love, sacrifice and inherent goodness in Gods' son. This is a lifelong commitment that we welcome as potential parents. We have already been praying for leadership, guidance and an open heart and mind to the leading of God's spirit for such a challenge. Fortunately, we are blessed with a supportive biological family as well as a loving church family to assist us. We attend a small, local church that loves the Lord, has an abundance of children, and lives out the calling to "bear one another's burdens." David and I attend a Sunday school class that we have come to cherish as we glean truths about God's word and learn about parenting in today's society. Our church family has been sharing in our joy during this process as several members have been recipients of the miracle and gift of adoption. We are blessed to know our family and friends will continue to support us in our journey as we welcome a child in our home.
In closing, we want to thank you for considering us to be your child's parents. We appreciate that you have taken time to learn about who we are and how your loved one may complete our family. Please know that it is our commitment to let your child know of the miracle and gift of adoption. We will honor this miracle by making the best interest of our child our first priority in everything we do. We look forward to sharing in their unique heritage and will celebrate your unselfish gift to us annually. We will raise him or her to know you and love you, just as Jesus loves us. We joyfully await the opportunity to become parents and to be able to share our love and home with your child.
