Hey, there. Welcome to our adoption profile! We're Brandon and Laura. We're excited to become parents and are thrilled to be at this stage of the adoption process - you're reading our profile! Yay!
We met in Birmingham, Alabama back in 2009. Our first date was at a Mexican restaurant called Cocina Superior. A few shrimp tacos later, we were in love. Shall we say, the rest is history. Fast forward seven years, we've built a strong marriage and a happy life together. We've traveled and established our careers. We're active in our church. We just haven't grown our family.
Even before we got married, we both knew we wanted to be parents. Though we cannot have biological children, we believe that God will fulfill the desires of our hearts, and for this reason, we are excited to be here in the adoption process. In fact, adoption is already a part of our family's story. We both have cousins that were adopted. We look forward to this next chapter in our story. The chapter with us as Mom and Dad.

ABOUT BRANDON (by Laura): There are lots of reasons why I love Brandon - he's a man of integrity, real cute, brilliant, a loyal friend, and always seems to make me laugh, but what I appreciate the most is just how thoughtful he is. Just the other day, I had a stressful day at work, and I came home to a pint of my favorite ice cream in the freezer. And every week, he fills my car with gas so that I don't have to bother with it. For Thanksgiving the other year, Brandon planned a surprise trip for us to go to New York City, because he knew seeing the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade was on my bucket list. Brandon is constantly trying to find little ways to show how much he cares. To say that I married well is an understatement, and I am convinced that the same qualities that make him a wonderful husband will make him a wonderful father as well.

ABOUT LAURA (by Brandon): Laura is more than just a wonderful wife. She is a great friend and my biggest supporter. One aspect of what I love about Laura is her upbeat personality. Really, that's probably the thing that I admire most about her - her ability to always focus on the good. I can always count on coming home and seeing her have a big smile and wanting to talk about our day. We live in a big city and used to live about a mile from where I work, so I would walk to and from work every day. In the winter, Laura insisted on waking up extra early to drive me to work so that I didn't have to walk in the cold. All of her thoughtfulness and caring support is there to be focused on our child one day. Almost every night after dinner, she is researching preschools or kindergartens; reading about how to raise a healthy baby; or trying to design a nursery on Pinterest. Laura has always had a strong desire to be a mother, and I know she will be a great one.
We Promise . . .
1. To not have preconceived notions of who the child "ought" to be. To celebrate the child's uniqueness and to help the child discover their passions.
2. To be supportive parents. To be the child's biggest cheerleaders and advocates. To show up. To be at every recital, soccer game, or theater performance. To be in-tune with the child's wants and needs. But most importantly, to always listen.
3. To do everything in our powers to prepare this child for the world. So that they can go on to do great things and make a difference.
4. Love. To love this child whole-heartedly. To tell the child how much you love them. And because of your love, you chose adoption.
We're grateful that you're choosing adoption. Please know - your sacrifice is not lost on us. We're amazed by your strength and courage, and we promise, that if given the privilege, to continue that very same legacy of unconditional, self-sacrificing love. More than anything, we would be honored to be able to watch that very same bold spirit blossom within your child. So, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us more. In this profile, we have tried to give you a look into our lives and the life we would love to give your child. We hope that this is only the beginning of our journey together.
