Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a bit by looking through our profile. We hope to give you as much information as possible to help you in making one of the biggest decisions of your life. We admire your courage and selflessness in making an adoption plan for your child. We will always openly discuss how great your love is for your child and how you wanted the very best for them. Our son, Noah, was placed with us 3 years ago, and we are excited to take this journey again to become parents to the child who was meant to join our family.
We married 11 years ago but have been together for 13 years. We met through mutual friends in college. We lead active lives and spend a lot of our time entertaining our family and friends. We host a variety of get-togethers at our home, including our annual Kentucky Derby Party. One of our favorite memories is the Carnival Party we held when we turned 30. Our friends and family still talk about how much fun they had playing all of the carnival games and making their own cotton candy and snow cones!
We especially love to entertain during the holidays! We enjoy decorating our home and carrying out many holiday traditions, such as cooking hot dogs on Halloween night, baking cookies while we decorate the tree, and watching holiday movies. Carrying out these traditions with our children makes the holidays even more memorable.
We also enjoy watching and attending sporting events together. We keep active, playing beach volleyball with friends and exercising. We often run in our neighborhood together, in a variety of charity races, and even tackled long distance running with Steve finishing a marathon and two 1/2 marathons, and Kristi completing her first marathon with Steve in April 2012!
We love to travel, and have been fortunate to see many places in the U.S., including New England, California, Gatlinburg, New York, Jackson Hole, and Disney World. We plan to continue to see the world with our children!
I was born and raised in Louisiana with my parents, my older sister, and younger brother. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Occupational Therapy and have worked as a pediatric therapist for the past 13 years. Working as a pediatric therapist has taught me so much about children, as well as the joys and struggles that families go through when raising children. I am able to arrange a flexible schedule that allows me to spend more time with Noah. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, participating in sports, shopping, and taking care of our home.
What Steve says about Kristi: Kristi makes our home a wonderful place and makes me a better person. I love how deeply compassionate she is for both people and animals. She will do anything for anyone and has never seen an animal that she didn't want to save! Her current career in treating children, along with her immense ability to love and care for her family, make her a great parent. Noah and I are blessed to have her in our lives.
I was born in Louisiana and am the only child of my parents. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting and have worked in the Accounting field for the last 14 years. When not working, I enjoy landscaping projects, photography, and being outdoors. I also enjoy spending time with our family and my four closest friends, who are essentially brothers to me. I attend a lot of sporting events and have enjoyed teaching Noah how to play a variety of sports.
What Kristi says about Steve: What I love most about Steve is his generosity and his desire to live life to the fullest. He loves to be around family and friends and is constantly looking for something fun to do! He is always offering to help out in any way, whether it is helping a friend move to a new home or putting in garden sprinklers for my parents. He has been involved in every aspect of Noah's life...from the daily routines of diaper changes and baths, to attending his school parties and teaching him how to throw a ball. I look forward to watching him continue to be an amazing dad to Noah and our future child.
Noah is an active 3 year old, who always has a smile on his face and loves to play with others, especially outdoors. He is fascinated by transportation vehicles, and so, his favorite toys are anything that goes! He attends a school/daycare during the week and enjoys identifying colors and shapes and counting. We are so blessed to have Noah as our son and know that he will be a great big brother! We have always openly discussed Noah's adoption story, and we promise to do the same with your child so that he or she will know how we became a family.
Most of our family lives only minutes to an hour away so we are able to gather together quite frequently! We spend a lot of time with our immediate and extended families during the holidays, for birthday parties, and to attend or watch our favorite college and professional sporting events. One of the most important members of our family is our dog, Brewsky. He is a tri-colored beagle, who is definitely like a child to us! Brewsky is a very friendly dog, and Noah enjoys running with him in the backyard and taking him for walks around the neighborhood.
We also have a close circle of friends with young children, whom we consider family. Their children refer to each of us as aunts and uncles. We formed a tailgating group with them for our favorite college football team and spend most Saturdays in the fall with them! We also get together for their children's birthday parties, our annual Christmas lunch, and many other times throughout the year.
We thank you for considering us to welcome your baby into our lives. We hope to fulfill your desire to find a loving family for your child. If you choose to place your child with us, we promise to provide a caring, supportive, fun, and active family for your child. We will encourage close family connections and appropriate child development and growth. We look forward to meeting you and wish that you have all the support you need during this difficult time.
