Hi! We are Ali and Rob, and we can't wait for a very special child to join our family. We thank you for making the courageous and loving choice to make an adoption plan, and for giving us the opportunity to tell you a little bit about our life and hopes for our family.
We have been happily married for over ten years and are so looking forward to giving our unconditional love to our child through the miracle of adoption. We always knew that we would be parents, and after trying to start a family for several years, we made the decision to pursue adoption. We knew that our desire to love and parent a child was much stronger than the desire to have a biological child. Our dream of becoming parents finally came true when our daughter Quinn came to us through adoption in September of 2015. We knew that adoption was the best plan for our family, and now having gone through it, we can't imagine our family any other way.
Written by Rob: "Ali wears her heart on her sleeve. She is a loving and caring mom, wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law and aunt. As ambitious a person I have ever known, Ali strives to bring out the best in herself and others. She also has a playful side, which usually comes out while belting out a karaoke song or watching cartoons. I love her so much and am so excited for her to become a mom to another child."
5 Things You Might Not Know About Me (by Ali):
1. I'm in my mid-30s and am the oldest of two children, and I have 12 first-cousins. Many of them live within an hour and we are very close.
2. I love running and have completed 4 full marathons.
3. I have a Master's degree in Business Administration and am a self-proclaimed math nerd... but I can't get enough reality TV and celebrity gossip.
4. I play the guitar and love singing songs to Quinn (real music!, not just Kid Bop and Disney!)
5. I'm easily won over by chocolate and peanut butter.
(Written by Ali): "Rob is one of the kindest, sweetest people I've ever known. He has such a gentle disposition, and he always finds the good in situations and people. He is goofy and loving, but also very dedicated and loyal - the kind of person that you can call in the middle of the night and you know will come running to help. He is also very hardworking, and has worked really hard to build his successful career in real estate. Rob is an amazing Dad. He is so sweet with Quinn - he tells her funny stories, they dance together, go on walks through the neighborhood - they have such a sweet relationship. I can't wait for him to become a father again."
5 Things You Might Not Know About Me (by Rob):
1. If I could be anything in this life, it would be a professional tennis or baseball player. I love being active (photo is of a zip lining trip we took with friends last spring.)
2. I consider myself a soda connoisseur.
3. I never had a pet growing up, but now that I have our dog, Jenny, I can't imagine life without one.
4. I wake up at 6AM every morning because I don't like to miss any of the day ahead.
5. I will do anything for my family and friends.
Quinn is our curious, sweet, agile, spunky, smart daughter. Quinn was placed with us when she was two days old and we've been in love with her ever since. She's a very happy kid, and extremely fun. She loves books (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is a big one at our house right now), running around at the playground, music, storytime, gymnastics class, talking, Elmo, and Cookie Monster. She is a social butterfly and loves other kids and we know she is going to be a great big sister.
We learned a lot about the adoption process going through Quinn's adoption, and we feel very prepared to go through this very complex, emotional, and life-changing process again. One of the things we're most proud of is our relationship with Quinn's birthfamily. Though we only met Quinn's birthmom a couple weeks before Quinn was born, we've built a really positive relationship with her and have enjoyed learning about her and her family. We know that all situations and relationships are different, and we look forward to seeing what our next relationship with our future child's birthfamily will look like.
Our typical weekends are filled with lots of activity. We live in a large city and enjoy taking advantage of all the parks, museums, restaurants, sports, music, and culture at our fingertips. Quinn loves visiting the zoo and the aquarium, both of which are only 20 minutes away, as well as the variety of playgrounds all in walking distance from our house. Our family is also located nearby so many weekends we are having family brunches or dinners, or visiting with friends. We value our time together as a family, as well as time to pursue our independent hobbies: Ali loves music, running, and finding fancy restaurants; Rob loves playing baseball, looking for sports memorabilia at flea markets, and coffee shops. We're happiest when we're active, but we also appreciate downtime at home, and we certainly don't underestimate the benefit of a night dedicated to doing nothing but getting caught up on our favorite TV shows. (Ali just finished binge-watching Game of Thrones.) It's all about balance!
We have so much love that we want to share with another child, and we can't wait to welcome him or her to our family. If we are given the honor of adopting your child, they will be unconditionally loved and supported, and know how much love you have for them too. Thank you for taking the time to learn about the life we hope to give to a child. We wish you happiness, peace, and comfort as you determine the best plan for your child, and hope that if you do make the decision to allow us to be part of your child's life, you know how loved they will be.
