First and foremost, we want to thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We can't begin to imagine your thoughts and emotions but the decision you have made shows courage and the love you have for your child. We hope that as you learn about us you will see the love and compassion we are ready to share with a child. Nothing excites us more than the thought of starting a family. We would be honored to meet you and share more of our journey with you.
We met on a blind date set up through a mutual friend. We quickly realized we had a lot of fun together and enjoyed each other's company to the fullest. After a few dates we were inseparable. We were married in the church within the year.
We love to spend time at home together or on a mini-vacation. At home, we are often entertained and cuddled up with our tabby cat Rita. She acts like a dog and greets you at the door. We love to take day trips to go fishing on the lake or a few days in the city. Occasionally, we enjoy larger trips such as Canada or (our honeymoon) the Bahamas. We can't wait to see what other adventures God has in store for us!
This is my second year in the local school district. I am a Speech Language Pathologist working with children from the fifth to eighth grade. In recent summers I have worked at a few skilled nursing facilities around the area. During the summer, I enjoy going to summertime concert series at the local park with family and friends. I enjoy joining family for baseball, basketball, and football games in our college town or the metropolitan area about an hour outside of town. In town, I enjoy meeting friends at new restaurants and shopping at the farmers market and locally owned shops. I love all four seasons but especially love playing in snow in the winter. Since we live in a town where there is hardly ever any snow, I love to take winter trips to ski and take in a mountain view. I love to travel within the states and internationally with friends and family.
Josh's Take on Carrie
Carrie is a smart, beautiful woman and I'm blessed to have her by my side. It didn't take long for me to realize she was the girl for me. She has a passion for helping others and can have a conversation with anyone which makes her a natural at her profession. I can't express how excited I am to watch her as a mother.
I'm the Lead Project Manager for an equipment manufacturing company in the gas and oil industry and have been with the company for 10 years. Outside is my favorite place to be. I enjoy working in the yard, building things in the garage (my most recent project was a set of washer boards for my father-in -law), and fishing with my dad and grandpa. I love sports in general but football is my favorite. I also love to cook, I went to culinary school. Trying out new recipes for Carrie is always fun! I grew up in a close and supportive family. We're always together for holidays, birthdays, and general gatherings. They can't wait to meet the new addition to our family!
Carrie's Take on Josh
Josh has a love for life. He demonstrates this through spending time with family, friends, and coworkers. He loves to spend time learning new things and is always fun to be around. He is silly with people but is also able to bond with others through deep one-on-one conversations. Josh is a great listener, which makes him a thoughtful gift giver. His laugh is infectious and his arms are always open. He is truly my best friend and I cannot wait to see him share his knowledge and love with a child.
We live in the same town as Carrie's parents, brother, and grandparents (Nanny & Papa). We see them often. We get together for celebrations, barbecues, and to watch the local college team's sports games. A few times a year we see Carrie's extended family for reunions and major holidays.
We both come from large, loving families that are ready to welcome our first child to the family. Josh has several young cousins that can't wait to meet their new playmate!
Josh's parents live about an hour away from us. His sister also lives an hour away, in a different town. We see them at least once a month. We celebrate summer holidays with his family eating great food, playing games, and watching fireworks for the 4th of July. We also go on a trip with his family to the beach during the summer. Christmas Eve is always at his Aunt's house. That night, everyone wears fun pajamas and plays the white elephant gift exchange game.
We live in a college town about one hour from a major city. Our home was built in 2011 and has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The neighborhood is family friendly and has a park, pool, splash pad, and sports field. There are often neighborhood events that are put on for younger children such as Easter egg hunts and pool parties. There are several schools within a few miles of our home. Living in a college town there's always a sporting event and we are close enough to the city to make zoo and museum visits a day trip.
Becoming parents would bring indescribable joy to us. We believe every child should be surrounded by unconditional love and support and we will ensure he or she is provided with opportunities to grow into the best person possible.
We're excited for the new adventures that life brings when raising a child. We believe that your child should know where he or she came from and would love to share the adventures with you, if you so choose.
We want to thank you for taking the time to learn about our lives. We hope you see the love and passion that we are ready to share with a child. The decision you have to make is difficult. We hope that our story provides you with confidence, given the brave choice you have made. We would love to hear from you and thank you for considering us.
