Daniel + Valerie

We want to thank you, first and foremost, for taking the time to learn a little bit about us and our lives. We have been married 11 years and are looking forward to adding to our family since we do not have any children of our own. We believe that you are facing one of the most difficult decisions that you will have to make. We deeply understand it takes strength, courage, selflessness, and love to choose adoption. Our hearts and souls lie in providing the very best for your child.

How We Met

'How We Met' Image

Valerie and Daniel were introduced to each other by Daniel's cousin. From the moment he met her, Daniel liked Valerie, and would ask his cousin to go swimming at her house just so he could see her. Daniel loved how she was different from any girl he had ever met. Twenty years later, he still adores her and hopes it never ends. Valerie's immediate thoughts upon meeting Daniel were, "This boy is CRAZY!" She playfully teased him about everything, but who knew that the playfulness would turn into a long-lasting love. She honestly believes God put them on this Earth for each other.

All About Daniel (written By Valerie)

Daniel makes me laugh every single day. I really love is that he is a big kid at heart. He is very personable and gets along with all personality types. Firefighting is one of the many things Daniel is great at. He has been working with the fire department for more than 10 years, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Daniel knows how to make it fun when we are doing absolutely nothing. He talks in a variety of voices which he'll even do when no one's looking. Daniel always treats me like a lady. Daniel makes me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. He is the love of my life and my best friend all wrapped into one.

All About Valerie (written By Daniel)

I like the way Valerie cares for animals and the way she is with little kids. I appreciate how she doesn't complain about money and how much she likes the outdoors. Valerie is always willing to try something out of the ordinary. Teaching is Valerie's specialty, and she adores her students and loves to be in the classroom. She has tons of fun with her wonderful wacky co-workers. I love how she is always willing to try something out of the ordinary.

I like that Valerie likes to hang out with family and play games, and I love that she has the summers off to spend time with me. She makes me feel special because she cares what I think and feel.

Home And Neighborhood

We are now in our second year of living in our ideal house, and we love it. We really enjoy how the kitchen is open to the great room and dining room. This way, we can entertain family and friends while cooking. Our backyard provides a playful retreat with enough room for a swing and a jungle gym. We look forward to having little picnics on our grass in the shade of our two trees while eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and sipping on sweet tea.

Our neighborhood continues to grow with new families moving in all the time. On our block, it is common to see children riding their bikes and families walking their dogs. There are two parks with play areas within walking distance from our home, and we even have a library 5 minutes away (we LOVE to read). It is definitely a family-oriented location!

Our Life Together

Our two amazing dogs are Kayla and Cleo. Cleo is a Lab/Rottie mix that we saved from an animal rescue center, and Kayla is our people-loving Boxer that we've had ever since she was a baby! Our lil' rascals both are gentle giants and get along well with our two cats, Axis and Allie. We saved Axis from the freeway and bought Allie as a companion for Axis. They are definitely "Lap Cats" and don't mind sharing the same lap! We also have two beautiful Cockatiels named Comet and Rocket who entertain us with their fun-filled whistles every morning.

We have been very fortunate to be blessed with such a close-knit family that has strong family values. Both sets of our parents have been married for over 40 years, and have set a good example of love and commitment. They are retired and can't wait to babysit and spoil our baby rotten, which is of course, what grandparents do best! We get to see our family a few times a week since most of them live here in the same city. We have enjoyed family BBQs (so yummy), spending time with our nieces and nephews, and laughing until our sides hurt with our brother- and sister-in-laws! You never know when our doorbell will ring, followed by family smiling and sometimes bringing home-cooked meals. Family is number one for both of us!

Our Adventures

Do we love an adventure? Absolutely! It doesn't matter if we're in the mountains, ocean, or at home, the most important thing is sharing it with family and friends! We can't wait to share these experiences with your child as they grow older. Of course, if the adventures turn out to be in the books, we would be just as happy!

We Look Forward To...

All the "firsts." First, haircut, first visit with Santa, first ice cream cone, first Birthday, first steps, first words... We look forward to kissing your child goodnight, comforting boo-boos, telling bed time stories, teaching them to ride a bike, visiting the zoo creating new family memories.

Our Desire to be Parents

Parenting doesn't come easy, but we hope to use our patience and our love to guide us through. We hope our child will believe and trust in God. We want to teach them right from wrong by showing through example how to respect and be kind to all of God's creatures, human and animal alike. We want to raise a problem-solver who will strive for a higher education. It is our goal to help our child communicate their disappointments and successes, their struggles and desires. We want him or her to believe in themselves and to follow their dreams wholeheartedly. We're ready to be those cheering parents on the sideline of any activity. Whatever their dreams, we will help them reach it.

As far as discipline is concerned, we think it's important to talk to our child about the problem that took place before giving any kind of consequence. We want to make sure they know what they did wrong, and provide them with an opportunity to make "better" choices. For consequences, we lean towards time-outs, restrictions, and loss of privileges.

And last but not least, we want our child to laugh and smile A LOT, have fun, and make amazing memories.

Thank You
